In July 2014, MSI launched a programme in Niger, providing contraceptive services in rural communities surrounding the city of Niamey. Since then, MSI Niger has become one of the leading providers of sexual and reproductive healthcare in the country.
MSI Niger now works across the regions of Dosso, Maradi, Niamey, Tahoua, Tillabéri and Zinder, providing a range of high-quality and client-centred contraception services and life-saving post-abortion care, following an unsafe abortion. The programme tailors its service delivery for each region, with the priority of delivering healthcare wherever women and girls in Niger need them most and a particular focus on expanding access to contraception for young people.
Since July 2017, MSI Niger has worked in partnership with the public sector to provide training and support to healthcare providers, helping to build a sustainable network of high-quality sexual and reproductive healthcare services across the country.
