MSI’s programme in Mexico began its work in 1999 in the Chiapas region, with its first centre delivering family planning services.
Since then, MSI Mexico has grown into a network of centres and teams that deliver contraception services to tens of thousands of people every year and safe abortion care in the regions where abortion care is permitted.
With a focus on reaching those most in need, MSI Mexico has implemented strategies to provide young people with reproductive healthcare information and services to tackle high rates of stigma, unintended pregnancies, and unsafe abortion. Their outreach teams and midwives travel to hard-to-reach locations to enable people with no alternative access to exercise their right to reproductive healthcare.
